Abstract

The performance of image-based face recognition systems depends on the quality of the face images.
Being able to automatically assess the quality of single images can consequently be useful in various scenarios, for example during the image acquisition process.
This talk provides an overview of the face image quality assessment literature, discussing the associated challenges, goals, and quantitative evaluation procedures.
